2TB WD Black Drives Drop as Low as $112 Each in Two-Pack Sale
Western Digital is trying to entice PC builders to add more storage by lowering prices, but if you’re willing to buy two of the same drive, you’ll get the best offer. The WD SN770 and WD SN850X are offered in 2-packs of various sizes. These are the latest in a string of the best his SSD deals we’ve seen in a series of price drops.
All deals are on 1TB and larger drives (sorry for those looking for a cheap 250GB or 512GB WD Black SN770).
Here are the deals we’re looking at:
All drives are displayed at sale price, but add 2 to your cart to see the lowest price. If you add just one, you’ll get a message promising a special offer if you double it. Only one of each deal can be in the cart at a time, and it doesn’t seem possible to mix and match capacities.
in tom’s hardware Folks, the standout deal is the 2TB SN770, a very nice drive that sells for $225 a pair, or $112.50 per drive. ($199.99 for just one).
The SN770 is priced at $59.99 with 1 TB capacity, so why buy two? A pair of 1 TB SN850X drives is $89.99 per drive, but adding a heatsink brings it down to $109.99 per SSD.
The 2 TB SN850X over the aforementioned SN770 is $139.99 per drive with two drives, while the heatsink versions are $149.99 each with two drives.
The only 4TB drive is the SN850X without the heatsink. That’s $344.99 per SSD when you get a pair.
On the WD Blue side, both SATA drives (M.2 and 2.5-inch) scored modest sales at 1 TB capacities. The WD Blue SN570 is available in both 1TB and 2TB, so you don’t have to buy two drives to make a sale. These don’t offer the same performance as the Black series, but they’re affordable and generally dependable in our reviews.
For 24/7 use, WD Red is the SN700, sold in 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB. Large capacities represent the biggest bargain, with 2 TB for $60 each drive and 4 TB for $80 each drive as long as you buy a pair.
You may get a 503 error on WD’s site, probably because this sale is shared. This has been fixed in an update, so keep trying if you’re having issues.
