Amy Hennig’s Untitled Black Panther Captain America Game Won’t Be Co-Op

Amy Hennig’s untitled Marvel game has been described as a team-up between Captain America and the Wakanda heroes, most notably the Black Panther. If so, this title is not co-op and you should choose another game.

When IGN asked Hennig in an interview for the untitled Marvel game if it was a co-op title, the director said “narratively yes, gameplay mechanics no.”

The title certainly features Captain America and the Black Panther (Azzurri, T’challa’s grandfather), but when it comes to gameplay, don’t expect to team up with friends locally or online.

“At Uncharted, by the fortunate coincidence that it was a shared experience in the living room, for the people playing our game, they experienced something partly intentional… their hands on the controller. Even if it wasn’t,” Hennig replied. The goal of this title is to capture the same kind of shared living room experience even when players aren’t actively playing together.

Given that details remain unclear, the untitled Marvel game will focus on four characters: Captain America, Black Panther, Howling Commandos member Gabe Jones, and Dora Milaje warrior. I know

Each character can be unique and playable, but the game itself does not support co-op play.

However, there are some superhero games that feature co-op as a primary gameplay mechanic, such as Gotham Knights and the upcoming Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.
