ASRock’s Sonic B760 Motherboard Is Smaller and Just as Delightfully Tacky

ASRock must have won a lot of rings with their first Sonic the Hedgehog themed motherboard. At CES 2023, we had to check out the ASRock B760M PG Sonic WiFi, which is designed for Intel’s 13th Gen Core processors (although it also works with 12th Gen Cores).

In my opinion as a Sonic fan since I was a kid these are fun and sticky. cod…

The special edition B760M PG Sonic WiFi has heatsinks for VRM, M.2 SSD and PCH and has a Sonic-themed design. ASRock claims the board he built with a 6-layer PCB and features Dragon 2.5 Gbit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E. With three he M.2 NVMe 4×4 SSD slots and he four SATA III ports, there is plenty of room for storage. He also has space for four sticks of DDR5 RAM.

Lighting has Polychrome Sync ARGB. (I think it should be red for the “& Knuckles” feel, but you can set it however you like). Other features include Nahimic Audio, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and a front USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C header.

Here are some other fun Sonic details. The most obvious is the rotating ring of the heatsink. However, the back of the board has an image of Sonic running, which can only be seen before attaching it to the case.

Rear ports include 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, 4 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and 2 USB 2.0 ports. increase. There’s also room for Ethernet ports, HD audio jacks, HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, PS/2 and antennas.

Prior to the release of this board ASRock released a full ATX Z790 version. This will make Sonic-themed motherboards available to more builders.

B760M Sonic Wi-Fi Found Selling for $189.99 (opens in new tab) in Newegg. It’s not exactly budget (AsRock and other sellers have his B760M board for less), but it’s cheaper than the more premium variants.

That being said, I do have a wish list. Clearly, there should be a Knuckles-themed AMD version. And maybe Tails SSD? Amy Rose graphics card? Is your cat’s RAM large? I could go on. Somebody take me to a meeting!
