Assassin’s Creed Mirage Officially Announced, Reveal Next Week

9:05 am update: Ubisoft officially announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage today following a leak. Announced on the franchise’s official Twitter account (below), Ubisoft also confirmed that more information will arrive at next week’s Ubisoft Forward showcase.

New images of the game have also been revealed, presumably showing the protagonist (rumored to be Basim from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla) stopping by for an assassination.

Ubisoft Forward will begin on September 10th at 12:00 noon PST/ET/8:00 PM UK (i.e. September 11th at 5:00 AM AEST).

Original story: Images of a long-rumored new Assassin’s Creed game titled Assassin’s Creed Mirage have apparently leaked online.

As reported by euro gamera deleted tweet from the Assassin’s Creed fan website codex network shared artwork of a new assassin that allegedly leaked from Ubisoft’s own store.

This image shows the series’ iconic white-robed assassin confronting something sword-wielding, though only the shadows of the enemies are shown. Thieves Quest.” This seems to indicate that this image is part of a pre-order offer or something similar.

The assassin looks like Basim, a character from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and is aided by a sword that seems to match perfectly with the blue and red sleeves. Consistent with previous rumors that he will be the protagonist of the game, it is set to release this year.

Nothing has been confirmed, but Ubisoft is hosting a multi-game showcase called Ubisoft Forward next week on September 10th, where the new Assassin’s Creed could be fully revealed. The game will be “less scoped”, focusing more on dedicated stealth sections than the sprawling open worlds of previous entries Valhalla and Odyssey.

Ubisoft is also working on a title called Assassin’s Creed Infinity. This is set to be a Fortnite-like evolving platform featuring multiple games, characters, and missions from his 15-year history in the franchise.
