It won’t be long before the Asus ROG Ally handheld series is released. Asus officially plans he will go on sale on May 11th. In just a few weeks, rumors are already circulating about the prices of his two models, the Asus ROG Ally and Asus ROG Ally (AMD Z1 Extreme). On Twitter, users Snoopy Tech_ I posted that the base model may have been priced at US$599.99. The base model uses the AMD Z1 chip and has a 256 GB NVMe M.2 internal SSD for storage.
Asus ROG Ally (AMD Z1 Extreme) edition is said to be priced at US$699.99. For just $100 extra, this Extreme Edition comes with a processor boost and up to 512GB of extra internal storage. Most of the specs are similar between his two editions, which could make the Extreme Upgrade more attractive given the price.
The biggest performance difference between the two is in the processor. The AMD Z1 has 6 cores and 12 threads along with 22MB of cache. The AMD Z1 Extreme has stronger specs supporting 8 cores and 16 threads and 24MB of cache. These differences are subtle, but can make a noticeable difference in performance depending on what you want to play.
Aside from the differences in processors and SSD size, the specs of the two handhelds are very similar. Both have 16 GB of his LPDDR5 for memory and use Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. Powered by AMD Radeon Navi3 graphics, it outputs to a 7-inch FHD display with refresh rates up to 120Hz.
