Baldur’s Gate 3 Confirmed for PS5, Release Date Revealed

Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to release on August 31, 2023, Larian Studios announced at the Sony State of Play 2023 today, also confirming it’s coming to PS5.

The release date was revealed along with a new trailer highlighting different character classes, split-screen multiplayer shots, and lots of combat. Even J.K. Simmons has been confirmed to make an appearance, playing the antagonist, General Keselic Soam.

“Keseric is a man with complex ambitions and motivations, so in searching for his voice we knew we needed to work with a well-known character actor who could give us the nuanced performance we were looking for. , we decided to cast J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Spider-Man),” said director Swen Winke. playstation blog“We expected it, but were still surprised at how much his performance helped deepen the character. We’ll be introducing two more antagonists in the coming months- Please keep an eye on it.”

In addition to revealing a new protagonist, Larian Studios also confirmed split-screen co-op and controller support, showing off Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition.

First announced in 2019, Baldur’s Gate 3 is the sequel to BioWare’s classic RPG from the 90’s. It is being developed by his Larian Studios, which previously worked on his acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin series.
