Developer EA Dice has announced that Battlefield 2042 Season 3: Escalation is coming November 22nd, bringing new maps, Battle Passes, Specialists, and more.

A new map, Spearhead, puts players in the swedish wilderness where they battle in and around two high-tech weapons manufacturing facilities. In Season 3, the Launch His Map Manifesto and Breakaway will also be reworked, although they won’t be updated until December and He January, respectively.

The updated 100 Tier Battle Pass also arrives with an update that includes new Specialist Rasheed Zain as one of the free unlockables. This Egyptian-born security expert is equipped with his XM370A airburst launcher, designed to push enemies out of cover, and his recharge of health, the fastest of any Specialist.

Speaking of weapons, Season 3 brings the Rorsch MK-4 Railgun, NVK-S22 Smart Shotgun, NVK-P125 Bullpup Pistol, and Battlefield’s favorite throwing knives to 2042. A new vehicle, his EMKV90-TOR tank, has also been added. A game that allows you to switch between different modes depending on the situation.

New missions have also been added, allowing players to unlock more Vault weapons for use in All Out Warfare.

Battlefield 2042 didn’t have the smoothest first year on the market, and was delayed to focus on more pressing issues such as the inclusion of the scoreboard, which led to Season 1 launching in June (seven months after launch). However, this update was delayed as well.

Publisher EA has almost simultaneously admitted that Battlefield 2042 has not lived up to its expectations, and soon after a petition seeking a refund was launched online, now with more than 230,000 players signed. There were fewer players on Steam than Battlefield 1, 4, and 5 in early March, so there was a decline during that time.

Following a generally well-received Season 2, EA DICE aims to show fans how the game has improved since launch. Alongside the launch of Season 3, we’re bringing Battlefield 2042 to Xbox Game Pass and EA Access, hosting several free games. Play weekends through December.

The game is free to download and play on Xbox December 1-4, Steam December 1-5, and PlayStation December 16-23.
