Blacktail’s Latest Trailer Shows the Good and Evil of Witchcraft – Gamescom Opening Night Live

Gamescom’s Opening Night Live sneaked in a nice long trailer for Blacktail. This is a game about magic and the legend of Baba his Yaga, which we’ve seen in showcases before, but nothing like this.

Blacktail is a twist on the traditional Slavic mythology of Baba Yaga, following a girl who is kicked out of her home on accusations of witchcraft. The choices she makes as she wanders will determine what kind of witch she ends up with – guardian of the forest, or outright terror.

In this video, we take a closer look at many of Blacktail’s combat, especially the use of both bows and arrows, and the characters’ magical abilities to fight monsters and wild animals. There’s also more teasing about the moral system that can determine the fate of both the land and the people who live there.

Blacktail is developed by The Parasight and published by Focus Entertainment. It’s set to release on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Steam this winter, and is currently available for pre-order on Steam.
