Call of Duty Accused of Plagiarizing Skin from Ex-Infinity Ward Director: 'At Least Name It After Me'

Activision was accused of plagiarism a second time this month after adding skins to Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone that resemble characters from the former Infinity Ward director’s new game.

As reported by MetroCall of Duty’s new Doomsayer skin has been likened to the character designs in Deaddrop, the upcoming game from Midnight Society, the studio of Dr Disrespect (also known as Guy Beahm).

Beahm co-founder and former director of Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward, Robert Bowling, used the character as his profile picture on Twitter, Posted new skin: "At least name it after me."

Activision has yet to issue a statement regarding the plagiarism accusations, but after responding to similar complaints in early August, the company removed the new skins from the game entirely.

A loyal Samoyed skin⁠—a dog-headed operator—was a source of controversy. and Warzone to remove the skin and all references to it.

The upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases on October 28th (a week earlier in the campaign for some players). He will be performing at the Call of Duty: Next showcase next month.
