It looks like the Infinity Ward developers already have a good idea of a potential Call of Duty spinoff.
In an interview with IGN, Infinity Ward narrative director Jeffrey Negus and Modern Warfare 2 head writer Brian Bloom reveal their one-off idea for Call of Duty, which will focus on the series’ favorite characters. Did.
“Yeah, let me tell you, it’s a ghost origin story,” says Bloom. According to both him and Negus, the two are British special forces and he is the main character in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He wants to do a game starring Simon “Ghost” Riley.
“There are other people who want to do that,” Bloom continues. “And I think that’s really interesting. Again, that’s kind of where this interview started, and there’s something iconic about that character, but the masks and those more superficial things. Where did some of the elements you tried to build here in the current release come from? It’s what we think, and we’d love to be in.”
Negus adds that the team cares deeply about ghosts and that the team is always thinking of story ideas for ghosts. “It’s hard not to have jam sessions like, ‘Hey, that’s cool.'”
