Cities: Skylines 2 Revealed for Current-Gen Consoles, Coming Later This Year

Developer Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have announced Cities: Skylines II, the sequel to 2015’s Cities: Skylines.

Revealed today as part of the Paradox announcement show 2023, Cities: Skylines II leaves behind previous generation consoles to head exclusively to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The sequel to City Builder is set to launch in 2023.

According to Paradox, Cities: Skylines II improves upon and improves upon the powerful city-building mechanics fans have known from the original, including a fully realized transportation and economic system, numerous construction and customization options, and advanced modding features. Expand.

Players can build any type of city they want, from small villages to bustling metropolises. Paradox touts Cities: Skylines II as being the most realistic city simulation ever created.

Cities: Skylines was first released on PC and Mac in 2015 and eventually on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and even Stadia. City Builder also saw a number of DLC expansions like major updates. For example, Cities: Skylines After Dark, Cities: Skylines Snowfall, Natural Disasters DLC, etc. The original game recently got a remastered version for PS5 and Xbox series consoles.

In their review of Cities: Skylines, they wrote, “Above all, Cities: Skylines is about the simple joys of building. It’s a very impressive and often beautiful simulation, with a surprising number of virtual people We are doing business on a huge scale: of the land.”
