Crucial Prepares to Unleash World’s Fastest Gen 5 SSD

Crucial is gearing up to launch the blazing-fast T700 SSD. pre order 1TB model starting at $209.99. This drive is currently the world’s fastest Gen 5 SSD, with read speeds of nearly 12 GB/s, beating every SSD on our list of best SSDs. The drive will be available later this month on May 30th.

The T700 is a PCIe Gen 5.0 x4 NVMe M.2 SSD rated for sequential read speeds up to 12,400 MB/s, sequential write speeds up to 11,800 MB/s, and maximum random read and write speeds. Up to 1,500K. It’s Phison’s state-of-the-art E26 controller, 4 GB of his LPDDR4 memory, and a double-sided 2280 M.2 drive with the Microsoft DirectStorage API.

Performance will vary depending on drive capacity selected. The 1 TB model has slightly slower read and write speeds (11,700 MB/s sequential read speed, 9,500 MB/s sequential write speed, 1,350K random read speed, 1,400K random write speed). , and a 600 TB endurance rating). The 2 TB and 4 TB both offer the aforementioned faster drive speeds, the only difference being drive endurance. The 2 TB model is rated at 1,200 TB and the 4 TB model is rated at 2,400 TB.

We previewed the drive two weeks ago and found it to be the best performing SSD in the world. The prototype T700 we received outperformed all SSDs we’ve tested so far, including the Phison PS5026 engineering sample, the Aorus Gen 5 10000, and the Samsung 990 Pro in numerous tests, including DiskBench, PCMark 10, and 3DMark. demonstrated. The production version cannot be said to be as good or better than the tested prototype version.
