Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios announced that Dead Island 2 sold over one million copies in the first three days of its release.
“Dead Island 2 has gained fans around the world, with countless players getting copies of the Drop Dead Gore Geos game within the first 72 hours,” said Deep Silver. press release.
Additionally, an in-game stat was revealed that showed how many players performed a particular action. So far, players have killed 1.1 billion zombies, hacked 756 million zombie limbs, and sliced 45 million zombies in half. Moreover, in total the player has spent 11 million hours in the game, and in total he has died 28 million times so far.
The latter number is more than double the population of Los Angeles, where the game is set.

Dead Island 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. IGN’s review of Dead Island 2 states, “Dead Island 2 is a hilarious gore-fest and a capable zombie-hunting adventure, but it lacks creativity beyond a great sense of humor.”
