With Diablo IV’s June release date creeping closer and closer, Blizzard has revealed Battle Pass pricing and how the RPG will handle seasonal content.
Detailed in our latest livestream Developer blogBlizzard has outlined the basics of the Diablo IV season, along with a breakdown of rewards and progress. The first season begins in his mid-to-late July, and in a year he has four seasons planned (one for each quarter), each season he is set to last for three months. .
Seasons do not extend the main narrative of Diablo IV. It is left to extension. Instead, it will focus on different thematic content that iterates on the base game and introduces “fresh concepts and ideas to the world of Sanctuary.” These concepts include new gameplay mechanics, characters, questlines, items, and balance changes.
Diablo IV adds seasonal questlines and self-contained stories each season. These quests take you through new gameplay events tied to the latest RPG themed experiences. During the stream, Diablo general manager Rod Ferguson added that this split from the core campaign story will allow the team to create quests and mechanics that are “not tied to the campaign.”
“You’re basically creating a completely different questline in the open world, but without the constraint that it has to be the narration level of the story,” Ferguson said. “Anything interesting you want to play in an open world is fine.”

Diablo IV’s quarterly updates are for post-launch adventures, so clear the base game Once played, all new characters can skip the campaign and start the seasonal update right away. Seasonal Journeys are added every quarter to support you through new additions to Diablo IV. This includes challenges and rewards aimed at completing the Battle Pass using Favor, an experience system. Blizzard’s Season Pass offers a free pass to completion, along with paid routes and extra perks.
Blizzard Reveals Battle Pass Pricing
The free Battle Pass is available to everyone and adds 27 tiers with rewards like smoldering ashes and other decorations. Ashes can be redeemed for experience, gold, potion enhancements, or Orbol’s Seasonal Blessings (buffs). Blizzard noted that paid pass rewards do not include additional smoldering ashes, and that certain character milestones must be reached before gameplay-affecting collectibles can be earned. bottom.
When it comes to the Paid Battle Pass option for Diablo IV, it adds:

Seasons only last three months, so the Acceleration Pass is aimed at those who started the season late, going back in time to unlock tiers for boosts. Some perks unlocked throughout the season, such as unique items and powers, will join the base game of Diablo IV after the event ends. Blizzard has said that in addition to monetized Battle Pass his tracks, Diablo IV’s cache also plans to rotate an assortment of gear for his shop. Items purchased in the shop are purely cosmetic, and class cosmetics are available to all characters account-wide.
An exact date for Diablo IV season 1 has yet to be set, and Blizzard’s developer panel said details on the subject will be discussed after its launch on June 6, 2023.
