Drop-in Shooter World Boss Launches Into Early Access

After being confirmed to arrive soon at PAX Aus 2022 earlier this month, the new free-to-play first-person shooter World Boss arrives in Early Access on Steam today. Developed by PlaySide Studios, World Boss was previously available to try out during open beta playtests.

World Boss is described as a casual drop-in shooter with roguelite elements. According to PlaySide, World Boss is also inspired by IO games.

“World Boss takes the fast drop-in and drop-out nature of IO games, the customization of roguelites, and the strategy and mechanics of first-person shooters to create an FPS that is familiar yet unique to everyone. PlaySide CEO Gerry Sakkas said in a statement released alongside the launch.

“One of our goals with World Boss was to bring the community closer to the development process. We are rolling out optimizations and look forward to bringing more content to our players in the near future.”

World Boss was developed in collaboration with Australian YouTube personalities Lannan Eacott (“LazarBeam”) and Harley Fresh (“Fresh”).
