European Retailers Slap Premiums on Nvidia RTX 4080 Graphics Cards

Last week, we got the first info on US pricing for Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 graphics cards at retailers. The signs aren’t good, and it looks like it’s going to be difficult for consumers to buy many models that come close to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price this Wednesday (November 16th release). However, the first European prices have started to appear over the weekend, and the cheapest model listed costs £1,166 ($1,368) excluding his VAT, which looks to have deteriorated significantly.
For sample RTX 4080 pricing, we checked popular tech retailers in Denmark, France, and the UK and compared them to Microcenter’s US prices. All the retailers we checked had Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 available in cheaper SKUs. The most expensive option from all the retailers we sampled was the Asus ROG Strix RTX 4080 OC Edition.

Just to remind our readers of the specs and estimated capabilities of the GeForce RTX 4080, it features an AD103 GPU with approximately 60% fewer transistors than the AD102 in the RTX 4090. CUDA, Tensor, and RT are also significantly reduced. Considering the core count, the RTX 4080 16GB has 8GB less VRAM on him and a narrower memory bus.
