Fox Producer Drops, for Now, Case Accusing Network of Coercion

A former Fox News producer who accused the network of being coerced into providing misleading testimony has dismissed one of the lawsuits against the company, at least for now.

Abby Grossberg, who worked for hosts Maria Bartiromo and Tucker Carlson, said in court documents filed in Delaware Superior Court on Friday that she voluntarily dismissed the complaint without prejudice.

In his complaint, Grossberg alleges he was under pressure and guidance from Fox’s lawyers to defend the company.

Fox settled with Dominion for $787.5 million in April, and a high-profile defamation case was about to begin.

Mr. Grossberg’s attorney, Parisis G. Philippatos, said his client intends to sue in another jurisdiction “in the coming weeks.”

“Fox would be wrong to view our client’s voluntary dismissal of the civil conspiracy claims as a retreat from those claims,” he said.

Filippatos added: It seeks $2.7 billion in damages for very similar wrongdoing by Fox. ”

A Fox spokesperson referred to earlier comments about the lawsuit. We will continue to vigorously defend Fox against her unjustified legal allegations full of false claims against our network and employees. ”

Grossberg still has a pending lawsuit against Fox filed in the Southern District of New York, alleging that the Tucker Carlson show was a toxic and misogynistic workplace. Carlson, one of the network’s top-rated hosts, was abruptly fired on April 24th.

Grossberg was fired from Fox News in March, four days after filing the lawsuit.
