Halo Infinite Is Getting Match and Performance-Based XP Rewards Next Week And Here’s How It Will Work

One of the most controversial parts of Halo Infinite is its approach to progression. Originally, he only rewarded XP for completing challenges, not how the player performed in a match. This is all about to change when Halo Infinite’s Winter Update releases on his November 8th as it adds match- and performance-based XP.

as detailed in Helloway Point, The Match XP Beta is part of 343 Industries’ mission to respond to player feedback on progression. With Match XP, “players are rewarded for playing the modes they love, and their performance in those matches is tied to those rewards.” Gained from Match XP.

On November 8th, Match XP awards players XP for things like completing a match and being on the winning team, giving players more XP based on their placement at the end of the match.

343 says it’s calling it the “Match XP Beta”. This is because we “monitor the value of each reward category and adjust it as we move forward with this new model”. means

Match XP is a major factor in progressing through the Battle Pass, and challenges offer “bonus boosts” to earn these tiers. According to 343, the purpose of the challenge has been “redirected” and “primarily serves as a pass to earn weekly customization items through Ultimate Reward”. It will be a great source.

343 has updated the mechanics of challenges, with three “main points” of change:

  • we are reduce Changed the number of challenges required to reach the ultimate challenge from 20 to 10
  • All challenges in regular weekly decks are Any playlist
  • The challenge is more “generic” overall

The Winter Update is also the first step towards making “every challenge agnostic to a playlist”. This means that for now Event Challenges can only be completed in the Event Playlist, but that will all change in the future.

Alongside Match XP, Halo Infinite players can also look forward to the official launch of Forge Mode on November 8th, along with the full launch of online campaign co-op. Unfortunately, split-screen co-op has been canceled altogether.
