Inno3D Hides Power Port On New RTX 4070, RTX 4060 Ti GPUs

Inno3D has figured out a way to hide the power connector on the brand’s upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, two of the best graphics cards on the market. Contrary to Asus’ concept of doing away with power connectors, Inno3D has cleverly placed them on the back of the graphics card.
Inno3D is preparing to launch the GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White in the Chinese market. Consumers will love the idea of routing the power cable to the back of the graphics card as it makes for easier cable management and improves the aesthetics of the overall build.
The power connector is on the back side of the PCB, in the area between the heatsink and the backplate. Inno3D rotated the power connector 180 degrees so that it faces the motherboard instead of the side panel of the case. Luckily, the graphics card only requires one power cable, so consumers don’t have to worry about running multiple cables.
For Inno3D, the two future graphics cards will utilize the standard 8-pin PCIe power connector. However, models using a 16-pin power connector will see the usefulness of this design. Every time a 16-pin power connector meltdown happened, consumers took extra care when plugging in the cable and when selling it. The Inno3D’s design leaves plenty of room for the cable to bend, allowing consumers to discard the power adapter, assuming they have an ATX 3.0 compliant power supply.
Both graphics cards have a hidden power connector, but the implementation is slightly different. The GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports comes with a partially removable backplate. Lifting half of the backplate reveals an 8-pin PCIe power connector. On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White isn’t as long as the GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports, so there was no way Inno3D would use the same design. Nevertheless, consumers do not have to remove the entire backplate to access the power connector. Instead, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White features a large cutout that allows you to connect the same 8-pin PCIe power cable.
according to my driver, the GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White ship with a white power cable to match the white theme of the graphics card. Inno3D has not yet announced the availability or pricing of its graphics cards.
