This issue was addressed earlier this week video card, who found multiple users on github I’m reporting lower than expected memory clocks on my A770 GPU. The clock he was supposed to run at 2,187 MHz, but for some reason, the affected user noticed that his GPU was running at a flat memory frequency of 2,000 MHz.
It may not sound like much, but the 187 MHz drop is actually quite large, with a 9% drop in clock speed and a significant 17% drop in memory bandwidth from 560 GBps to 512 GBps. This can severely degrade game performance for games that heavily use the GPU’s memory bus.
