Lenovo Legion Y32p-30 32-inch 144Hz 4K Gaming Monitor Debuts

Lenovo has announced a new entry in its ever-growing Legion family of gaming monitors: the Legion Y32p-30. We don’t know exactly what it’s called, but Lenovo hopes to entice gamers with his 31.5-inch panel size with a new bezel-less design (at least three sides).

The Legion Y32p-30 features a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS panel with a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 (typical). Brightness is 400 nits peak (DisplayHDR 400 certified) and 350 nits is what you typically see on monitors. According to Lenovo, the Legion Y32p-30 covers 99% of the sRGB color space.

Since it’s being billed as a gaming monitor, the Legion Y32p-30’s specs are a 144Hz refresh rate and a 0.2ms response time (MPRT). Although Lenovo didn’t mention it in their press materials, the Legion Y32p-30 does support AMD FreeSync Premium.

Given the gaming focus, it’s no surprise to learn that Lenovo has fitted smart RGB lighting elements under the front bezel. RGB effects are meant to sync with on-screen colors to give gamers a more immersive experience while playing. It also has an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the screen brightness according to the brightness of the room. It also has Eyesafe 2.0 certified blue light protection.

As for connectivity, the Legion Y32p-30 has an HDMI 2.1 port and a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection. Optionally, you can connect the monitor to your PC using USB-C (DisplayPort Alt-Mode). An integrated USB hub provides access to 1 USB 3.1 Type-C port and 2 USB 3.1 Type-A ports. It also has a built-in KVM switch and a mix of picture-in-picture display modes. There is one 3.5mm audio output jack, but no internal speaker. If you look to the left of the monitor (pictured above) you’ll find a folding hanger for your headphones.
