Mailchimp suspends accounts of several crypto-focused users

Mailchimp, a popular email service provider, has shut down several crypto-focused media outlets and companies using its platform, including Decrypt and Messari.

Mailchimp reports of account suspensions began earlier this week on custodial crypto wallet Edge. The platform’s community discovered that when his manager, Joelly Garcia, tried to log into his Mailchimp account, it was disabled.

Other crypto-focused entities are experiencing similar issues. On August 10, Messari founder Ryan Selkis announced that Mailchimp had suspended the company’s account “for no reason.”

While recent suspensions have affected some of the more popular names in the crypto industry, Mailchimp has a history of suspending or banning anything related to cryptocurrencies.
