Mango Markets exploiter slammed with new lawsuit

Mango Markets exploiter Avraham Eisenberg has been sued by decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol developer Mango Labs, according to court filings on Jan. 25.

Mango Labs boasted on Twitter that Eisenberg carried out a $114 million malicious attack against DeFi protocols on October 11, 2022. The company wrote:

“[Eisenberg] He manipulated the value of Mango tokens (MNGO) and converted approximately $114 million from Mango Markets depositors into his accounts through fraud and deception. The defendant soon took to Twitter to brag about his attack, describing his illegal activity as a “highly profitable trading strategy.” ”

The DeFi protocol wants Eisenberg to return the $47 million he earned after the attack, and also intends to void the deal he had with Mango’s DAO.

The Mango DAO and Eisenberg have entered into a deal that allows the attacker to keep $47 million from the exploit and protect him from potential lawsuits. However, the protocol’s developers claimed that the deal was concluded “under duress” and therefore “void and unenforceable.”

“[Eisenberg] It forced the Mango DAO to enter into a non-enforceable settlement agreement.

mango lab explained Eisenberg is a “notorious online personality” with a “history of attacking multiple cryptocurrency platforms and manipulating the cryptocurrency market.”

After being arrested in Puerto Rico by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on December 27, 2022, Eisenberg faces legal challenges from other U.S. agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). facing
