Markets trade flat but Quant posts impressive 23% gain

Since the last wMarket report, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization has recorded a net outflow of $17.72 billion. As of press time, the cryptocurrency’s market capitalization stands at $923.91 billion, down 1.9% from Oct. 13.

Bitcoin market cap fell 2.8% from $380 billion to $369.27 billion during the reporting period. Similarly, the market cap of Ethereum fell by 1.7% from $162.85 billion to $160.08 billion.

The top 10 cryptocurrencies have recorded marginal profits in the last 24 hours. The exception is XRP, which saw a 3.2% loss. Ethereum, on the other hand, leads the large caps, growing by almost 2% during the reporting period.

The market caps of Tether (USDT) and BinanceUSD (BUSD) have remained relatively flat over the past 24 hours at $68.4 billion and $21.6 billion respectively. Meanwhile, the market cap of USD Coin (USDC) has seen a slight outflow, with a loss of $360 million to $45 billion.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin has fallen 2.6% since October 14, trading at $19,278 at the time of writing. Its market dominance declined slightly to 40% during the reporting period.

A sharp sell-off triggered by higher than expected CPI inflation data on October 13 led to a strong recovery, reaching $19.960 at 02:30 (UTC) on Friday.

A subsequent drawdown found support at around $19,000 and the weekend action continued along this zone until Sunday night (UTC), with a 1% upswing. This quickly tumbled to the previous support as the bears took the lead.

ethereum

During the reporting period, the price of Ethereum fell by 1.2%, trading at $1,309 at the time of writing. Its market dominance remained at 17.3%.

Ethereum strongly mirrors Bitcoin, including a recovery in CPI inflation on Friday morning (UTC). Friday afternoon, ETH reached $1,344.

The subsequent drawdown bottomed out at $1,263 at 00:00 (UTC) on October 16th. Similar to BTC, ETH saw his 1.6% sharp rise. However, the bears pushed down profits with price action forming a V-shaped pattern on the 15-minute chart.
