New Tales From the Borderlands Is Developed By ‘Key Alumni’ From the Original Game

New Tales From the Borderlands is set to be the spiritual successor to the original Telltale Games narrative adventures. Also headed by Quebec Studios, Gearbox is leading this new project, while key “alumni” who worked on the original Tales his Borderlands game are also working on the new title.

In 2018, Telltale Games closed in a dramatic way, laying off most of its staff and canceling several projects in development. Telltale Games has since been revived under new owners, but many former Telltale developers continue to work in various studios and industries.

But for fans worried that New Tales from Borderlands is missing the developer input that has helped perfect the narrative adventure genre, worry not. In an interview with IGN, Gearbox revealed that key members who worked on Telltale’s Tales From the Borderlands are returning to New Tales.

“There are many talented writers among Gearbox Studios who have spent a lot of time building the Borderlands universe, but we have partnered with key alumni from the original Tales games,” said James Lopez, production director at Gearbox. increase.

Not only that, but the head writer of New Tales From the Borderlands is Lynn Joyce, PhD in Interactive Fiction. That said, the hundreds of choices Gearbox has promised in New Tales From the Borderlands should surprise players with the various ways they can branch out or converge with each other.

New Tales From the Borderlands was announced at the Gamescom Opening Night Live. For more announcements, check out IGN’s overview of all new games and trailers released.
