Nintendo Indie World Showcase April 2023: Everything Announced

Nintendo’s latest Indie World Showcase has just wrapped up, offering release dates for some long-delayed games along with some surprise releases in the indie version of the company’s popular Nintendo Direct format. In it, we finally get our first glimpse of Blasphemous 2 and set a release date for Oxenfree II. Here’s the full list of announcements and trailers from today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase stream.

Mineko’s Night Market gets a release date after 8 years of development

Meowza Games’ long-running development finally got a release date as part of the opening act for the Indie World Showcase. First unveiled in 2015, Mineko’s Night Market grabbed attention with its beautiful watercolor graphics and hordes of cats focused on Japanese mythology. Players are cast as Mineko during exploration. Crafts; befriend the townspeople and join the local Knight’s Market where you can sell whatever you find. Overall, it’s not that different from games like Fantasy Life, but its art stands out. Mineko’s Night Market launches his September 26th on Nintendo Switch and is also announced for PC.

My Time at Sandrock Lands Summer 2023

The Nintendo Switch version of My Time at Sandrock had extended screenings at the Indie World Showcase. His developer, Pathea Games, has narrowed the official release window while talking about its inspiration from the Gobi Desert. My Time at Sandbox, now in Early Access on Steam, is the sequel to My Time at Portia and lets players build machines, build workshops, and customize their homes. Rift of the NecroDancer Gets New Trailer

Shadows Over Loathing Heads To Switch Later This Year

The sequel to West of Loathing releases today on Nintendo Switch. Featuring the same black and white stick figure art as its predecessor, Shadows over Loathing shifts the setting to his 1920s filled with “gangs, monsters and mystery.” Despite the period change, Shadows Over Loathing retains its original sense of humor, and enemies include perceptive mathematics among other things. Blasphemous 2 Gets First Trailer And Release Window

Blasphemous has received its first official announcement following an official announcement at IGN last year. The new trailer brings back Penitent One and the original game’s trademark pixel-based art, combined with newly added weapons, expanded movesets, progression systems, and custom builds. He praised the original Blasphemous as a spooky Metroidvania with gorgeous animation and combat, but noted that it was “a little too one-dimensional”. Blasphemous 2 seems to address the latter while maintaining the former. This should go very well for Switch fans, as Blasphemous 2 launches on Nintendo Switch this summer.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals gets release date after previously postponed

The biggest news of the Indie World Showcase today is that Oxenfree II, the sequel to the popular indie by Night School Studio and Netflix, officially has a release date. Set five years after him from the original game, it stars Riley who has returned to his hometown to investigate strange electromagnetic waves, complete with his system of new walkie-talkies that allow him to communicate with other characters.
