Overdose, Hideo Kojima’s Next Game, May Have Leaked Again

Hideo Kojima’s rumored horror game Overdose has resurfaced, and leaked images of the character played by Death Stranding actor Margaret Qualley appear to be circulating online.

As reported by leaker Tom Henderson, insider gamea screenshot of Kojima’s Overdose is said to have started the rounds on multiple private Discord servers.

An overdose was first rumored in June of this year, when Henderson posted details of the game. The leak apparently stemmed from footage showing third-person gameplay in which Qualley’s character explores dark hallways using a flashlight. Kojima Productions’ request to remove the reported article was denied.

According to Henderson, the screenshots now circulating appear to be from the same video as the original report in June. According to the original report, Overdose was likely a distinct departure from his Death Stranding sequel, and its star Norman Reedus may have accidentally revealed himself.

Officially, Kojima is partnering with Xbox on the game the creators “always wanted to make.” Kojima, who appeared at the Xbox Bethesda Game Showcase earlier this year, said future titles will incorporate Microsoft’s “cutting-edge technology” and “changing trends in the industry.”

Kojima gave similarly high marks to his upcoming project last week. It’s almost like new media.” We’re not sure which project he’s referring to, but given his previous grandiose statements about that project, he’s probably the Xbox partnership.

Elle Fanning and Deadpool 2’s Shiori Kutsuna are set to star in the upcoming Kojima Project, as revealed through mysterious teasers in recent weeks. Again, it’s unclear exactly which game these actors belong to.
