Overwatch 2: Blizzard Removes Another Hero Due to Bugs

Blizzard has announced the temporary removal of Overwatch 2 hero Mei from the game due to a bug. The character is expected to return to the game with the next patch scheduled for November 15th.

In a tweet from Blizzard’s customer service account, Blizzard said, “We are temporarily disabling Mei to address a bug in our Ice Wall ability that allows heroes to reach unintended locations.” We are working on it and aim to bring back Mei in the next patch scheduled for November 15th.”

This bug allowed Mei to use walls to travel to locations outside of the gameplay boundaries. This often allowed players to hide from their enemies and take damage or kills easily. This clip posted on Reddit.

The move comes just weeks after heroes Bastion and Torbjörn were also removed from the game due to a bug that was causing serious disruption to gameplay. Their removal is one of the many issues that plagued the game’s difficult release, including long queue times and his constant DDoS attacks.

While the team is hard at work on character bugs, rebalancing Heroes in Overwatch 2 isn’t on the table for another month or so. In a recent blog post, Blizzard said he would consider such a detailed rebalance by December.

Our review of Overwatch 2 called the game “a hugely enjoyable team-based FPS, packed with charm and a love of the world it’s set in.”
