Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Don’t Include Pokérus

It looks like it’s official: Pokérus is gone. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet just released on Thursday, but players are already discovering a fictional rare disease that doesn’t exist in the new game.

Pokérus was first introduced in the second generation of Pokémon games. Status is viral in nature. Infects all Pokémon adjacent to the infected Pokémon in the party.

The disappearance of Pokérus was discovered by Twitter users and dataminers @mattyoukhana_discovered that the game’s code showed no signs of Pokérus.
