Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Introduce a Brand New Way to Battle

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduce a whole new way of fighting other pocket monsters that doesn’t require any input from the trainer.

Auto Battle is done through a new feature called Let’s Go, which allows players to send partner Pokémon to explore nearby areas while fighting wild Pokémon in their own battles.

Presented in pokemon website After the release of the new trailer (below), auto battles (as the name suggests) take place independently of player engagement. This means you can also explore the area remotely while watching your Pokémon battle another Pokémon.

“You can take one Pokemon and walk together through the wilderness of the Pardea region,” the website reads. If you have a Pokémon exploring with you in the field, you can use the “Let’s Go” function to send that Pokémon out in a specified direction. The Pokémon you send out will pick up items in the area on its own, and will also have an auto battle with nearby Pokémon. “

Autobattles also allow Pokémon to gain experience points, though it’s unclear if there’s a limit to how long or how many battles they can participate in before requesting another command from the player.

That’s not the only news to come out of the new trailer, though: Nintendo also unveiled new limited-edition Pokémon Scarlet and Violet OLED Nintendo Switch consoles. We also showed off the three main stories that can be pursued in.
