Radeon RX 7600 Rumored to Be AMD’s Next Desktop GPU Release
According to AMD’s exclusive board partners, they are preparing their Radeon RX 7600 designs for Computex. Igor’s laboratoryThat means AIBs like ASRock, PowerColor, Sapphire and XFX are expected to showcase RX 7600 designs at the world’s biggest PC tech show starting at the end of May. However, it’s strange for AMD to release desktop GPUs out of order like this as we are still waiting for the RX 7800 (XT) and RX 7700 (XT) designs.
Igor’s Lab claims the Radeon RX 7600 cards from AMD’s closest partner above are complete and ready for Computex in just a few weeks. Interestingly, the board also supports Nvidia GPUs. His partners (Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.) have decided to wait and see how well the RX 7600 desktop GPUs sell before hitting the market, he adds. I’m here.
Igor hints that the Radeon RX 7700 XT is on the backburner for now as AMD (and/or its partners) foresees a shift in mid-range pricing. The idea seems to be to launch the , see how it performs, and then see the price difference up to the RX 7700 XT. As of now, Igor’s lab has not mentioned his RX 7800 (XT).
We hope the Radeon RX 7600 brings a new level of affordability to the latest generation of graphics cards. It’s expected to be much more economical to manufacture than the flagship RDNA 3 graphics card we’ve seen so far, such as the chiplet-based design and lashing of VRAM. The Radeon RX 7600 will be smaller (Navi 33?). According to the latest information, the GPU has 28 Compute Units (1,792 SP) and a modest 8 GB of VRAM. It’s widely expected to be pretty much the same as the Radeon RX 7600M, but with much better clocks and performance due to desktop power/thermal benefits.
If the rumors are correct, the new RX 7600 desktop graphics cards are aiming to compete with the GeForce RTX 4060 rather than the RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 4070 in known quantities.
On the topic of mid-range Green Team desktop graphics cards, in the same report, Igor’s Labs states that the RTX 4060 Ti will also debut at Computex. Due to the RX 4070 market slump and a reported slowdown in his GPU supply for this SKU by Nvidia, the source said that the initial supply of RTX 4060 Ti cards would be lower than his RTX 4070. is shown.
Igor sees strong polarization in the desktop GPU market. He explains this observation by pointing out that the GeForce RTX 4090 sold well among die-hard fans who absolutely must own a flagship graphics card. Meanwhile, consumers of traditional mid-range graphics card buyers have seen his Nvidia pitch, with many drying their powder with high hopes for the new entry-level offering.
Of course, the current Ada Lovelace product stack has seen steady sales of some options, but overall downward pricing pressure continues. So far, Nvidia’s strongest sales are said to be the RTX 4090 for Halo buyers and the RTX 4070 Ti for practical performance enthusiasts.
Last but not least, don’t forget to add a pinch of salt to Igor’s above morsels.
