Raijintek Teases GeForce RTX 4090-Compatible Fanless Cooler
fanless tech The first images of Raijintek’s upcoming Morpheus 8069 fanless cooler for high-end graphics cards have been released. Specifically, it’s compatible with AMD’s Radeon RX 6700/6800/6900, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080/3090, and even Nvidia’s current flagship, his GeForce RTX 4090.
The Raijintek Morpheus 8069 can passively dissipate up to 360W (if the airflow in the chassis is properly regulated), and even more if equipped with a few fans. 360W is enough to cool the best stock clocked graphics cards like AMD’s Radeon RX 6900 XT and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. However, for the top-of-the-line GeForce RTX 4090, the cooling system would require him to add two 120 mm fans.
Raijintek’s new Morpheus 8069 resembles its predecessor Morpheus 8057 in every detail. However, there is a different mounting mechanism to ensure compatibility with the latest graphics cards. Additionally, the cooling system features a nickel-plated copper base, twelve of his 6 mm heat pipes and 129 aluminum fins. It weighs 515 grams without the optional 120 mm cooler, but with two Raijintek 120 mm fans (about 100 grams per unit) the weight increases to about 715 grams. It’s still lighter than the weight of most stock coolers used in today’s high-end graphics cards.
In addition to the cooler itself, thermal pads, screws, washers, mounting frame, and fan bracket, the Morpheus 8069 bundle also has a copper heatsink for the reference AMD Radeon RX 6700/6800/6900 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 voltage regulation module. included. /3090/4090 graphics board. On the other hand, an image with a non-Raijintek branded backplate (see gallery below the story) suggests that the company may not have included the backplate in the package.
Historically, Raijintek was one of the companies that primarily focused on fanless (passive) cooling solutions. However, in recent years, as CPU and GPU power consumption has increased and heat dissipation has increased, manufacturers have expanded their lineup with traditional air coolers and all-in-one liquid cooling systems. Still, Rizintech clearly remembers its roots and Morpheus 8069 is a perfect example.
It remains to be seen if the Morpheus 8069 will be able to passively cool Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 7000 series boards without a fan, but at least the unit can be used with existing graphics boards. Even the quiet GeForce RTX 3090 sounds captivating.
Raijintek will officially announce the Morpheus 8069 on November 1st.No pricing has been announced for the upcoming passive cooler for the latest graphics cards, but its predecessors (for AMD’s Radeon RX 5000 and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2000 series) are available on Amazon. $105 (opens in new tab).
