Rare Founder Takes to Twitter to Show Off a Host of Lost Gaming Treasures

Rare’s Nintendo exclusive days are long gone, but founder Tim Stamper still has gaming history from the studio’s early days. In a few short video clips, Stamper revealed development footage of his Project Dream, as well as other snippets from the N64 classic.

stamper took twitter Introducing past development cartridges, posting footage of unreleased N64 titles, etc. Clips include canceled projects and games that survived through other iterations such as Dream 64 and Twelve Tales: Conker 64.

In a series of posts, Stamper shared Photos tagged with Dream64 Banjo-Kazooie featuring Captain Blackeye, a pirate who would later appear in the Banjo game. The image includes his SNES and N64, which contains his November 21, 1996 developer cartridge labeled “Dream 64 Latest Version”.

“So it’s true,” Stamper wrote.

Rare Founder also added a 15 second peak on Dream. [in] 1996″. It again includes Captain Blackeye, whose voice lines recall Stamper’s earlier tweets.

In 1997, Rare’s codenamed Dream game was Officially Revealed as Banjo-Kazooie at E3. Over the years, studio talent has spoken publicly about their time on Dream and eventually Banjo and Kazooie. 2015, in the studio Recorded a modified dream On YouTube, a boy named Edson has an RPG-like adventure.

Other footage from Stamper includes an intro snippet from Twelve Tales: Conker 64, which debuted alongside Banjo at the same E3 in Atlanta. Twelve Tales has been dropped as another canceled project, and Rare’s fiery squirrel will instead see his first N64 release as Conker’s Bad Fur Day. A clip of Stamper shows another development cartridge and a 48-second sequence of his Conker and an acorn-like enemy.

The Battletoads character design document is also briefly introduced. Another video of Stamper shows him skimming through the fighting game series’ Character Design Guide.

Battletoads art and description are cool tidbits, but what’s lurking in the background looks neat as well.When Stamper’s video starts, it’s probably filled with binders all related to his game projects The selected room will be displayed. Tim remained with Rare until his 2007 with his younger brother Chris Stamper.
