Dr. Pride created a frame for the project to hold all the components in place, including the Pi, Bluetooth speaker, and an additional component that triggers the spray can. Dr. Pride has kindly shared the complete hardware list for those interested in recreating the project themselves. He uses his Raspberry Pi 3 to drive the entire operation along with his ZeroBorg motor his controller assisting in operating the NEMA-17 stepper motor. A PIR sensor is used to detect motion and a battery bank makes the unit portable.
This software was written from scratch in Python by Dr. Pride. He also adds that trick-or-treaters who successfully passed the Super Spooky Sweetie Stealer Stopper were given a chest full of goodies that was also Pi-powered and played music when opened. I think.
