Raspberry Pi Turns Typewriter into Working Linux Terminal

To upgrade the typewriter to function as a terminal, Riley decided to use multiple SBCs. In addition to the Raspberry Pi, it’s integrated into the Arduino Uno, which handles keystrokes, so commands are automatically entered and printed out in real time. The Pi communicates with the Arduino to complete the circuit.
Riley made a video on his official YouTube channel. artist, analyzes how the project works together and shows the actual final build. It basically works by accepting terminal input, telling the typewriter that a key has been pressed, and then printing the corresponding result on paper.
Riley explains that typewriter keyboards use an 8 x 11 matrix that can be controlled by 8-pin and 11-pin cables. The Arduino Uno can control keyboard input using his two multiplexers I got from Amazon. Any multiplexer should work as long as it can support more than 11 channels.
The software he created is completely open source and available to anyone who wants to explore it or create this project for themselves.
