Razer Unveils $250 PS5 Controller With Offset Sticks

Razer has announced a $249.99 PlayStation 5 and PC controller called the Wolverine V2 Pro with Xbox-style offset sticks.

release date Razer websiteWolverine V2 Pro is officially licensed by PlayStation and includes remappable buttons, swappable thumbsticks and adjustable triggers, intended to give you an “unfair advantage” in any game and The controller will be available on December 31st.

Connect to your PS5 or PC via a USB-A dongle that enables ultra-fast 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, and pair with the Razer App to further customize features such as stick sensitivity, button mapping, lighting effects and more.

The Wolverine V2 Pro adds two fully customizable buttons on the front and four on the back. Alongside regular face buttons, these have a shorter actuation distance, making them quicker to press than standard DualSense controllers.

A similar effect applies to triggers, which can be locked at different distances to work well in different genres of games. For example, a short pull is most effective when playing shooters, while a long press is intended for use in racing games.

One thing that isn’t working is vibration. This is something Sony’s own DualSense puts a lot of emphasis on through haptic feedback. “The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro is a controller focused on competitive play,” he writes on his Razer website. “Vibration can negatively affect accuracy when playing games that require more precise directional input, so it’s not a feature typically used in competitive settings.”
