Remnant 2 – Introducing the Gunslinger: A Desperado Who Never Runs Out of Ammo | IGN First

You’ll need bullets as you make your way through the unrelenting hordes of Remnant 2’s procedurally generated soul-like levels. That’s where the Gunslinger archetype comes in. With his six-shot shooter on the hip and a lead large enough to bury an army of bad guys, this western-themed outlaw has ungodly levels of his DPS making it his calling card . After getting hands-on with the Gunslinger, I took out my spittoon and sat by the campfire with principal his designer Ben his Cureton and we talked about how to loot the Gunslinger.

“Remnant 2’s Gunslinger is all about weapons,” Ben told me. “They’re masters of weapon handling, rate of fire, and ammo generation. And the Gunslinger’s fantasy is that they’re constantly switching weapons. There are, but they are much rarer than other classes, and they shoot on average much faster than any other class in the game, they’re just raining bullets everywhere .”

“This town is not big enough for the two of us.”

Gunslinger replaces the former Cultist from its predecessor, a mid-range powerhouse designed to keep bullets flying. But unlike last year’s reformed Cultist, the Gunslinger has largely abandoned his role as a hybrid his support his class, going all-in on dealing as much damage as possible. His one of the main ways the Gunslinger achieves it is Prime Perk: Loaded. Activating this archetype skill instantly reloads all weapons. If I had played my cards correctly, I wouldn’t have had to reload my precious time in combat by activating my skill when I needed a new magazine for my weapon.

The skills at your disposal at your Gunslinger are pretty deadly in their own right, like the quickdraw, the first of the three abilities you unlocked during your playthrough. “The quick he draw is something you’ve probably seen in every western ever made: take out a six-shooter and he fires six,” Ben explained. bottom. “There are two versions of it. One auto-targets the enemy in front of you and fires up to six shots. It fires 6 shots at all times, but fires the reticle accurately, which means it can be used on things with very visible weaknesses, things that don’t move too fast, bosses, etc. Pretty much. It’s strong, and it’s especially good because it has a short cooldown, so it’s something you can use in prime [Perk] To keep the weapon reloading all the time. “

“By playing aggressively and using all the gunpowder available, we’ve almost succeeded in burning down Remnant 2’s most dangerous foes.”

There’s also Sidewinder, a skill that speeds up ADS and allows you to aim and move faster, and Bulletstorm, which fully automates all weapons and increases fire and reload speeds. On top of that, the returning trait system allowed us to increase the amount of ammo we could carry beyond the maximum capacity of other archetypes. It’s an incredibly challenging game that can help you drown your enemies in a hail of gunfire.

If you’ve played a shooter with me, you know I hate reloading. Of course, the downside of being such a relentless DPS machine is that I was very limp. It lacked the second wind available to the Challenger archetype in close combat, or any kind of support ability available to other classes in co-op play. This meant that during combat, you had to focus on killing your opponents quickly, preferably from a distance, and finish the fight before it even started. This became especially important in boss fights where one false move could mean an unwanted respawn loading screen. By playing aggressively and using whatever gunpowder you can get your hands on, you’ve almost succeeded in burning down Remnant 2’s most dangerous foes, giving you as little time as possible to fend off an onslaught of attacks.

In late-game builds, when the Gunslinger is combined with a secondary archetype like the close-quarters Challenger, use its near-bottomless ammo hoard with DPS-focused skills like Rampage to make even bosses quiver You can be a downright mob-killing machine. in their wicked boots. As someone who gets a kick out of spending hours building crafting to squeeze every last drop of his DPS out of my character, Gunslinger had me salivating positively.
