Resident Evil 4 Remake and PlayStation 5 Topped U.S. Sales Charts in March 2023

Resident Evil 4 Remake was the best-selling game in the US in March 2023, while the PlayStation 5 remained the best-selling hardware.

Capcom’s remaster of the classic horror game outperformed other new releases in March, including MLB: The Show 23 and WWE 2K23, according to the latest data from Circana (formerly NPD).

Both of these titles surpassed last month’s Hogwarts Legacy to take second place overall in March, but remain the best-selling games of 2023 so far. MLB: The Show 23 ranked him third, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, The Last of Us: Part 1, FIFA 23, WWE 2K23, Elden Ring, Madden NFL 23 and Mario Kart 8 .

Video game hardware spending increased 10% year-over-year, and PS5’s increased availability helped it to take its place as the best-selling console in terms of both unit sales and revenue. The Xbox Series X and S were second in sales, and the Nintendo Switch was second in sales.

Sony declared a hardware production problem in January after a shortage of semiconductor chips plagued the entire tech industry, and the PS5 has had a strong sales record since then.

Resident Evil 4 was also expected to perform well after Capcom announced it had sold 4 million units in its first two weeks on sale.
