Ron Desantis promises to protect Bitcoin and oppose a CBDC as president
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced his support for Bitcoin and opposition to central bank digital currencies in announcing his candidacy for president.

He expressed concern that Bitcoin may not be able to withstand the hostility of U.S. regulators for another four years.
No to Central Bank Digital Currencies
Ron DeSantis has said that if I become President of the United States in 2024, I will not do a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
Florida passed a bill last month that would prevent CBDC from being recognized as money in the state. DeSantis said Florida was the first to take a position in the legislative branch.
Senate Bill 7054 aims to protect the rights of Florida residents by prohibiting CBDCs from being treated as money under the Florida Uniform Commercial Code.
