Ryzen AF 2.0 Spotted: Zen 3-Powered R5 3600 Shows on Romanian Store

reported that ancient replay On YouTube, Romanian retailer Intend has published a new CPU listing featuring model names. Ryzen 5 3600AF – Indicates Ryzen 5 3600 with upgraded Zen 3 cores. Assuming this naming scheme is not a typo, this marks the return of AMD’s “AF” nomenclature. This is good news for budget PC gamers. This listing shows that the Ryzen 5 3600AF is valued at 639.77 Romanian Leu, or around $126 USD at the time of this writing.

The AF nomenclature originally started with the Ryzen 5 1600 AF. It featured an upgraded Zen+ core compared to its original Zen counterpart. The chip was a bargain at the time, costing less than the Ryzen 5 2600, but offering nearly identical performance thanks to its Zen+ architecture.

However, the term “AF” comes from the box identifier of these upgraded 1600s, not the actual model name. Since the original Ryzen 5 1600 and his Ryzen 5 1600 with Zen+ had the same model name, the only way for users to tell the difference was through the identification number on the box. This number differs from the original 1600’s “AE” model name as the Zen+ version includes the letters “AF” at the end. Community as a way of distinguishing between the two parts.
