Sentiment reportedly hacked for at least $500k

DeFi lending platform sentiment likely hacked, according to project announcement on Twitter April 4th.

The project team wrote that they were “aware of potential issues with the Sentiment Protocol” and were investigating the situation.

Sentiment has not provided an explanation, but various members of the community have suggested that the project was hacked based on blockchain records.

Developer Pascal Marco Cabelsaccio Proposed This incident may be the result of a reentrant attack. This series of attacks meant that an external contract repeatedly called a vulnerable sentiment contract before the latter contract’s status was updated.

Meanwhile, developer Imaddin Amsif said: Proposed The attacker specifically called a self-destruct function within the Sentiment smart contract.

Other, Splique Proposed Attackers stole between $500,000 and $1 million via Arbitrum, the blockchain powering Sentiment’s DeFi platform.

This work will be updated as more information becomes available.

The post, where Sentiment was hacked and reportedly made at least $500,000, first appeared on CryptoSlate.
