The company briefly stated its goals for next year at the launch event. latest earnings reportrevealed that the PS5 has now sold over 38 million units, thanks to its best year on the market so far.

As mentioned above, no PlayStation console in history has sold so many units in a single fiscal year, and even with the PS2, the best-selling console of all time with 159 million units sold, this is certainly impressive. would be a nice number.

The PS5 is certainly headed for an incredibly strong year as its sales increased significantly as the component shortages that plagued the video game industry abated. It sold 7.1 million and 6.3 million units in four quarters, compared to 2.4 and 3.3 in the previous two quarters.

The stock shortage is essentially over, especially when compared to fiscal 2021-22 figures, when Sony sold 3.9 million and 2 million PS5 units in the third and fourth quarters, said Jim Ryan of Sony Interactive Entertainment. The president’s comments seem accurate.
