South Korea upgrades wanted status of Terra founder Do Kwon, asks for red notice

South Korea has asked Interpol to issue an emergency warning notice to Terra founder Dokwon, Financial Times report September 19th.

South Korean prosecutors demanded that Kwon’s South Korean passport be revoked because he was “on the run” and uncooperative, the report said.

Kwon’s lawyer reportedly told prosecutors that he would not immediately respond to the subpoena.

South Korea issued an arrest warrant for Kwon on September 14.

Kwon closed its Terraform Labs office in South Korea in April and moved to Singapore around the same time.However, the Singapore police clearly As of Sept. 17, Mr. Kwon was not in the country.

Police have promised to help South Korea track down Terra’s founder.

South Korean prosecutors are reportedly doing their best to find him and have “started the process of putting him on Interpol’s red notification list and revoking his passport.”

According to Interpol websitethe red notice is a global law enforcement request to “identify and provisionally arrest persons pending extradition, extradition, or similar legal action.”

The notice puts Kwon on wanted lists in 195 countries.

Do-kwon plays the victim and denies running away.

In a series of tweets on Sept. 17, Dokwon said he was not “on the run.” He also denied his allegations that he was uncooperative and said he had communicated with “government agencies who expressed interest in communicating.”

Kwon continued that the only people who need to know his location are his friends, people he’s meeting, or people playing GPS-based web3 games. In his view, any other interpretation of this amounts to an invasion of his privacy.

On the other hand, Kwon also made a mysterious tweet, say it:

“You can learn a lot about a society from the way it raises its young and buries its dead.”

Crypto Twitter took issue with Do Kwon’s post, with users criticizing his approach to the current situation where thousands of investors have lost their savings in the Terra Luna collapse.

The crypto community interpreted this tweet to mean that the Terra founder was playing victim after the company’s demise.
