Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Has a New Performance Patch for PC, PlayStation and Xbox Update Arriving Soon

A new update for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor hits PC players today, May 1st, to address some of the game’s ongoing performance issues. A more extensive update is planned for consoles tomorrow, May 2nd.

EA announced on Twitter that PC players can now download an update that causes “non-raytraced rendering performance issues.” Tuesday’s console update, meanwhile, includes a ton of improvements that are expected to fix a number of issues players have been experiencing since the game’s launch last week. This patch provides fixes for numerous crashes and glitches that caused problems in Respawn’s latest adventure in a galaxy far, far away. But what’s reassuring to many who bought the game on day one is the promise of general performance improvements, hopefully offering much-needed reductions in screen tearing and graphics issues.

This latest update comes after an already staggering day one patch that surprised many buyers. In addition, his 1 update is mandatory on this day. This means that anyone who buys a physical copy of the game will have to connect to the internet at least once in order to download it.

Still, despite its sometimes frustrating performance issues, Jedi Survivor proved to be a great follow-up to its 2019 predecessor. Our review called it “a sequel that improved on virtually everything over the original and was already an excellent Star Wars game.”

Here’s the full list of upcoming updates for PlayStation and Xbox:

  • Fixed multiple crashes on PlayStation and Xbox Series X/S and in various areas of the game
  • Fixed a crash related to skipping cinematics
  • Improved performance on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S
  • Fixed issue with dynamic cloth inside Mantis
  • Fixed various rendering issues
  • Fixed an issue where registered cat colors were not saved
  • Fixed issue with enrolled cats disappearing from stables
  • Fixed an issue with overlapping cinematic lines
  • Fixed various collision issues
  • Fixed enemy AI getting stuck in T-pose while in photo mode
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to freeze while talking to Doma
  • Fixed a bug that prevented BD Oil VFX from rendering correctly
  • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck in a chamber with off duality if they didn’t save after exiting the chamber and dying
