STEPN denies claims of layoffs

On October 13th, gaming company STEPN (GMT) denied claims that it had laid off staff.

A STEPN spokesperson reached out to CryptoSlate to clarify the layoff rumors. A spokesperson said:

“We deny rumors that STEPN is laying off staff for the bear market. , is choosing to address these rumors head-on in order to avoid further speculation as to their falsity.”

The news about STEPN’s layoffs was published by Twitter account Wu Blockchain on October 12, citing community sources. The information claimed that STEPN would lay off his mod and more than 100 of his staff, including ambassadors.

STEPN has confirmed that it is parting ways with Volunteer Mod, but adds that this does not indicate downsizing. A company spokesperson said:

“In reality, STEPN has parted ways with a volunteer MOD that has been inactive for the last few weeks or months. As for staff, STEPN is actively hiring several different roles within the company.”

He further added:

“We at STEPN are disappointed to have to deal with unsubstantiated rumors, but we will continue to do our best. Despite the bear market, we remain strong and continue to build, grow and evolve. Please keep STEPN.

In addition to reporting upcoming firings from STEPN, kure blockchain claimed that STEPN’s parent company, Find Satoshi Lab, will cut its investment in STEPN.

Quoting the same community source, kure blockchain Find Satoshi Lab said it will use its investment in STEPN to promote itself and upcoming new projects such as a new NFT exchange platform.

News about the changing investment was also included in a CryptoSlate article to which STEPN replied. A STEPN spokesperson declined to comment on whether this information is accurate.
