Strong Museum of Play to Introduce World’s Largest Playable Donkey Kong Arcade Cabinet
The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York is building a Donkey Kong arcade cabinet big enough for King Kong to try out.

Even better, this gigantic version of Donkey Kong can be played by guests via a tiny human-sized control panel at the base of the machine. One can only wonder if the big buttons on the machine itself will also work for controlling games, Donkey Kong coming to the museum on his June 30th. You can see what the machine looks like below.

Donkey Kong will be part of the 90,000-square-foot expansion of the museum dedicated to the history of video games. Museum announcementIt’s about 370% larger than the original and works with the original Donkey Kong cabinet motherboard.
Along with the unveiling of this big arcade cabinet, Donkey Kong is now co-starring in the world’s biggest movie, the Super Mario Bros. movie. If you’ve seen the movie, you’ll notice that Donkey Kong has been redesigned from familiar versions of the character in Donkey Kong His Country and Super Smash Bros.
