Tears of the Kingdom Has Unique Dialogue if Players Skip Its Intended Opening Area

WARNING: This article contains minor spoilers regarding opening hours for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom of Tears is a very open-world game that allows players to do more or less what they want, in any order they want. This meant that he could completely skip what was supposed to be the starting area of the game, but this oddity was noticed by his NPC in Hyrule.

At the start of the game, when the player descends from the Sky Island, they primarily aim for Lookout Landing. This is a simple base that not only provides a place to start his quest and gear up, but also gives the player access to the next location. A very important key item: a paraglider.

So for those looking to experience all parts of Tears of the Kingdom and access one of its key traversal methods, skipping Lookout Landing doesn’t make much sense, but it’s still an option. That said, Hyrule’s inhabitants find (and question) the decision to skip it.

“Hey, Link, you haven’t been to Lookout Landing yet, have you?” One Goron question pointed out by a Reddit user black techno. “He must be looking for Princess Zelda and investigating the upheaval. You might want to go there. It’s just south of Hyrule Castle.”

The unique conversation doesn’t stop there. “If you plan to explore other regions, why not visit Lookout Landing?” a Gerudo town resident said. “Hmm? Lookout, doesn’t he know about Landing?”

The Zoras also drop a lot of hints. “By the way… Link, you haven’t been to Lookout Landing yet, have you?”

Needless to say (despite many NPCs doing so), the developers of Tears of the Kingdom really want players to visit Lookout Landing.

In its 10/10 review of the game, IGN said, “‘The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom of Tears’ is an immeasurable sequel that expands beyond expectations on an already fulfilling world and raises the bar even higher. It has been raised,” he said.
