The Iceberg Thermal IceSLEET G6 Stealth Review: Top-Tier Colossal Tower Cooler

Hobbyists and other advanced PC builders are very reluctant to use stock cooling solutions. Standard coolers are good enough for their intended purpose, but often end up offering mediocre acoustic performance and can’t handle the heat loads of gaming and overclocking systems. As a result, what has been the rule since the first actively cooled x86 processors hit the market nearly 30 years ago remains the rule today. Most enthusiast builds are made using aftermarket he coolers. All of this has led to (and continues to sustain) a huge market for coolers and other PC peripherals.

In today’s review, we’ll take a look at Iceberg Thermal’s IceSLEET G6 Stealth Tower Cooler. Iceberg Thermal is a relatively new player in the PC market, founded in Tempe, Arizona in 2019. Nevertheless, the company’s employees and engineers have many years of experience in designing and marketing cooling products.

The IceSLEET G6 Stealth, as the name suggests, is a cooler primarily designed around minimal noise output. Most of the company’s marketing efforts also focus on how quiet the coolers are. On the other hand, looking at the specs, this is also a huge cooler with a length and width of 160 mm and a weight of over 1 kg. With that much mass and an $80 price tag, Iceberg Thermal is definitely aiming for the top performance spot in the air-based CPU cooling market.

Iceberg Thermal provides the IceSLEET G6 Stealth in a discreet box with artwork printed directly onto the brown cardboard wall. The basic information of the cooler is printed on the back of the box. It looks great and is at least partly eco-friendly, but best of all, the box is sturdy and the cooler is well-packed to ensure safe delivery.

In the box were only the parts needed to install the cooler. Everything is neatly packed and labeled to avoid confusion during installation. All metal parts are plated to create a titanium-like appearance and provide long-term corrosion protection. Iceberg Thermal includes enough syringes of thermal compound for at least three uses.

The IceSLEET G6 Stealth is a slightly unorthodox tower cooler designed to wrap a 140mm fan completely inside the fins. There are 6 copper heat pipes that transfer thermal energy from the small base to the fin array. The cooler is 160 mm (6.3 inches) tall, pushing the limits of his standard ATX case.

If you look closely at the fins, you can see an abstract design with bumps. Manufacturers often implement different fin profiles to improve the cooler’s overall performance characteristics, but the fins are usually uniform. The IceSLEET G6 Stealth’s fins form a total of 6 groups, with 9 identical fins in each group. The bottom group is a bit smaller and allows for 56mm of RAM clearance. Above that first group there are two different groups, each alternately he has nine fins.

A plastic black/turquoise cap covers the top of the cooler, hiding the heat pipe ends and the cooling fan.

The top cap also acts as a support for a 140mm cooling fan. At the top of the large fan, he clips onto two screw holes to hold it securely in place while simultaneously acting as a passive shock absorber to reduce vibration-related noise.

Hidden inside the cooler’s massive metal body, the 140 mm fan was rebranded by the company and we couldn’t recognize who the OEM was behind its creation. It turned out to have a Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) engine. This is an advanced sleeve bearing design with significantly improved life. It can reach up to 1400 RPM, which is quite fast for his large 140 mm fan.

All metal parts of the cooler, such as the heat pipe and base, are plated with gunmetal gray. Plating not only improves aesthetics, but also protects the cooler from corrosion and oxidation in the long run.

The IceSLEET G6 Stealth has a very small base, disproportionately small for the size of the giant cooler. A small aluminum block serves both as the foundation for the steel braces used to mount the cooler and as the mechanical support for the copper heatpipes. There are 6 heatpipes in direct contact with the CPU, and only heatpipes.
