The Lord of the Rings Returns to Netflix Next Month

Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy finally returns to Netflix in the US on February 1st.

As reported by game spot, Netflix announced the return of all three films on Twitter (below). This means that The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King will be available to watch again.

Oddly enough, this is also the first time all three films have landed on a streaming service at the same time. Fellowship of the Ring was available for two brief stints in 2018 before being dropped in January 2019, and its sequel appeared from September 2019 to March 2020, but No movies have been available since then.

What many consider to be the greatest fantasy movie trilogy of all time doesn’t need a lot of help, but The Lord of the Rings is doing just fine thanks to Amazon’s The Rings of Power series. It became a hot topic again last year.

The Ring of Power takes place during the Second Age of Middle-earth history, touched upon only briefly in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. This is the time when the Ring of Power was created and Sauron was defeated by the formation of the Last Alliance.

Among its many characters are Galadriel, played by Cate Blanchett in the trilogy, and Isildur, the ancestor of Aragorn and the king who cut off Sauron’s finger and claimed the One Ring.
