The Most Anticipated Game of 2023: IGN’s Readers Have Spoken

2023 is well underway at this point, promising another year of epic gaming where you’ll laugh, cry, and (hopefully) have the best of times.At the moment (before delays pile up), we have potential classics like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Starfield, and we’re looking forward to more games. But you What excites you most? During his week, we asked IGN viewers to tell us what games they couldn’t wait to play and how they turned out.

After thousands of battles in matchups like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor vs Final Fantasy 16 and Dead Space Remake vs Resident Evil 4 Remake, the most anticipated games of 2023 have been decided. Who took the top spot? Drumroll please…

Yes, it may sound a bit shaky considering the behemoth is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has the ultimate prize of 65,038 wins out of 79,160 fights. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is supposed to be a big his PlayStation exclusive, and everyone loves the friendly neighborhood spider. This entry also looks to step things up further by bringing Peter Parker and Miles Morales together to face Venom.

One of the closest and largest battles in showdown history, the battle saw Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s 82.2% win rate beat out The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s 82.1% win rate. was found to be sufficient for Yes, the difference between winning and losing was less than 1000 votes.

Well, defeat was probably too harsh a word, as the hype for the sequel to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild wasn’t going to run high before its May 12, 2023 release date. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor came third with an 80.4% win rate, earning enough votes to keep Starfield and Hogwarts Legacy in the top five. Interestingly, three of the top five games are console exclusives, while the remaining two are from his two most popular IPs in the world (Star Wars and Harry Potter).

Rounding out the top 10 are blockbusters like Final Fantasy 16, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Dead Space Remake, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Diablo IV.

At the other end of the spectrum, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre finished last with a 23.6% win rate. Although there’s no official release date for the game based on the 1974 film, he said his first impressions of the 3v4 PvP game were positive and that it would fit perfectly with the license.
